Oil and Acrylic

Drawing and painting were favourite childhood activities and have been a lifelong interest. Since retiring from a long career in education I have returned to this relaxing and enjoyable past time.

I am mainly a self -taught artist. I have participated in several weeklong workshops with the Blue Mountain School for Watercolour Painters in Collingwood, Ontario. I have also attended the University of Western Ontario for art. It was during an art course at Western that I was introduced to acrylics and abstract art. I fell in love with this vibrant medium along with the freedom of abstract representation.

In the past year or so I have started using oil paints to explore abstract and traditional subjects.

Everyday is an adventure in my artistic journey as I experiment with techniques and mediums. There is always something new to learn and to try out.

Local residents of Huron County as well as people from afar have purchased my work. It has also received recognition at the Huron County Museum Exhibition and has been on display at the Blyth Centre for the Arts.

I am fortunate to live on a farm just outside of Seaforth with my husband, one bossy Shih Tzu and one unusual cat.
