Born in Windsor, Ontario in 1944, artist Colleen McMorrow and her husband Frank have lived in the beautiful town of Bayfield for 11 years. Colleen and her family (she has one son and two daughters) have lived in both Ontario and British Columbia and she has traveled extensively through-out Canada, the US and Europe, often deriving her artistic subjects from these journeys. She loves to travel, hike and photograph scenery and has a deep love for the natural world. Born fourth in a family of ten children, Colleen has been inspired by her 92 year old mother’s love of painting.
Colleen, who began painting in watercolours, now works mainly in acrylics. She began devoting much of her time to painting after her retirement 12 years ago. Colleen is known for her celebration of flowers and delightful still-life subjects such as buildings and picturesque street scenes. She has a tasteful use of colour and tone and a wonderful ability to convey the richness and vibrancy of her subjects. Colleen has a diverse portfolio of paintings – from lush flower arrangements to charming Southwest scenes.
