Biography

Media Preferences: Acrylic, Oil & Watercolour

Speaking to my art seems presumptuous as I feel I am still  learning. Do I have the talent? I think so. My art training began early on. I attended an art high school in Toronto and later went on to study art at the University of Hawaii. I excelled at painting, drawing and sculpture.

Upon returning to Toronto, I decided to study graphic design and marketing. I later went on to be a National Marketing Manager with a large corporate downtown firm. I worked in the field for over 30 years including the past 15 years in Huron County.

In 2000, my husband and I relocated to Bayfield. I joined the Chamber of Commerce and designed an event to increase tourism for Bayfield. The event was called ‘Sail & Canvas’. My idea was to build on the genre of the village by bringing together artists and maritime pleasures that share a canvas theme. Many artists and boaters from SW Ontario and Michigan participated in the weekend event. The event ran for 11 years.

After many years of divided interests and responsibilities, I have returned to my first love - Art. I am painting regularly and have sold a number of paintings in the Toronto area and locally. I enjoy the challenge of painting the lake, animals and portraits. I paint in watercolour, chalk pastel, acrylic and oil.

As a new member of the Goderich Co-op Gallery, I look forward to contributing a level of art that is consistent with the calibre of the resident artists and reputation of the gallery. I trust that one will find that my work is an addition to the life and lifestyle of Huron County.
